Aero Precision’s AR-15 5.56mm 16" Carbine Upper Receiver closely resembles the military’s M4 flattop upper and comes fully assembled. The charging handle and bolt/carrier group are omitted, since AR-15 fans who assemble their own rifles usually prefer to select aftermarket components that suit their specific needs. Why pay for parts you’re going to replace?

The AR-15 5.56mm 16" Carbine Upper Receiver features a 16" barrel of high-grade chrome-moly-vanadium carbon steel with a tough, corrosion- and scratch-resistant black QPQ finish (all other steel parts are Parkerized). It’s chambered for 5.56mm NATO ammunition, so it will safely handle civilian .223 Remington ammo too. The 1-7" rifling provides proper stability for currently popular bullet weights.

The Aero Precision AR-15 5.56mm 16" Carbine Upper Receiver comes with an M4-type plastic handguard and a standard A2 flash suppressor. For added military authenticity, the barrel has the grenade launcher cutout just ahead of the front sight tower.
