The Athlon Optics Talos BTR 1-4x24 Gen2 is a high-value, feature-packed low power variable optic (LPVO) designed for shooters who need fast target acquisition at close range combined with the ability to engage targets at medium distances. This model (215024P) features a versatile 1-4x magnification range, making it an excellent choice for AR-15 platforms, tactical carbines, home defense rifles, and 3-Gun competitions. The second generation Talos BTR brings improved optical clarity, a refined illuminated reticle, and enhanced durability, delivering reliable performance at an affordable price point.
Versatile 1-4x Magnification Range
The 1-4x magnification range of the Talos BTR Gen2 offers outstanding flexibility for both close-quarters and mid-range engagements. At 1x, the scope provides true 1x magnification with a wide field of view, allowing for fast, both-eyes-open shooting similar to a red dot sight. When increased to 4x, the optic delivers the magnification needed for precise shot placement out to several hundred yards. This makes the Talos BTR Gen2 an ideal optic for home defense, tactical training, competition shooting, and general-purpose use on modern sporting rifles.
Illuminated Reticle for Fast Target Acquisition
The Talos BTR 1-4x24 Gen2 features an illuminated reticle designed for rapid target engagement in varying light conditions. The illuminated center provides a bright aiming point that stands out against dark backgrounds or during low-light situations. Multiple brightness settings allow shooters to adjust the reticle intensity to match ambient lighting, ensuring a clear sight picture whether you’re shooting in bright daylight or at dusk. The reticle design supports both close-range speed and accurate holdovers at extended distances.

Rugged Construction and Reliability
The Talos BTR Gen2 is built on a strong 30mm one-piece tube for added durability and strength. It is nitrogen purged and O-ring sealed, making it completely fog-proof and waterproof for use in all weather conditions. The scope is designed to withstand the recoil of modern sporting rifles and the rigors of regular range use. Athlon’s attention to detail ensures that the Talos BTR Gen2 maintains zero and performs consistently even after repeated use.
Fast and Intuitive Shooting Experience
With its true 1x capability and illuminated reticle, the Talos BTR Gen2 bridges the gap between a red dot sight and a traditional magnified optic. Shooters can keep both eyes open at 1x for rapid target acquisition while still having the option to zoom in for greater precision when needed. This makes it one of the most versatile optics available for modern carbines.
