The Athlon Optics Midas HMR 2-12x42 is a versatile and high-performance second focal plane illuminated rifle scope designed for hunters and precision shooters who need a compact yet powerful optic. This model (213055) features a 2-12x magnification range paired with a 42mm objective lens, delivering an excellent balance of field of view, light transmission, and overall size. Equipped with the illuminated AHMC1 MOA reticle, the Midas HMR provides precise aiming points and reliable performance in varying light conditions, making it an outstanding choice for big game hunting, predator hunting, and general-purpose shooting applications.

Versatile 2-12x Magnification Range

The 2-12x magnification range of the Midas HMR offers outstanding flexibility for a wide variety of hunting scenarios. At the low end (2x), the scope provides a wide field of view ideal for close-range shots and quick target acquisition in dense cover or thick timber. At the high end (12x), it delivers the magnification needed for precise shot placement at medium to long ranges. This versatile zoom range makes the Midas HMR suitable for everything from brush hunting to open-country pursuits without the need to carry multiple optics.

Illuminated AHMC1 SFP MOA Reticle

The Midas HMR is equipped with the illuminated AHMC1 reticle in the second focal plane. The AHMC1 is a well-designed MOA-based reticle that offers precise holdover and windage corrections for accurate shooting at extended distances. Because it is located in the second focal plane, the reticle size remains constant throughout the magnification range, providing a clean and consistent sight picture at all power settings. The illumination feature allows the reticle to be clearly visible during low-light conditions such as dawn, dusk, or heavily shaded areas, giving hunters a critical advantage when light is limited.

42mm Objective Lens for Excellent Light Transmission

The 42mm objective lens provides an outstanding balance between light-gathering capability and overall scope size. It gathers ample light for bright, clear images in low-light environments while keeping the scope relatively compact and lightweight. Combined with Athlon’s advanced fully multi-coated lenses, the Midas HMR delivers excellent light transmission, high contrast, and sharp resolution across the entire magnification range, making it particularly effective during early morning and late evening hunts.
