Mil-Dot SFP MIL Reticle
The Mil-Dot reticle is a time-tested and highly functional second focal plane MIL reticle that has been a favorite among precision shooters and hunters for decades. It features a clean crosshair with evenly spaced Mil-Dots on both the horizontal and vertical crosshairs, allowing shooters to accurately estimate range, hold for wind, and make precise adjustments without the need for a separate rangefinder. Because the reticle is located in the second focal plane, the Mil-Dots remain a consistent size throughout the magnification range, making range estimation calculations straightforward and reliable at the fixed 12x power.
Fixed 12x Magnification Benefits
The fixed 12x magnification of the NEOS HMR provides several advantages over variable power scopes. With no zoom mechanism, the optical system is simpler, often resulting in better light transmission, sharper images, and greater durability. The consistent 12x power eliminates the need to adjust magnification in the field, allowing shooters to maintain focus on their target. This makes the 12x40 an excellent choice for hunters who typically engage targets at known distances or for precision shooters who value optical clarity and repeatability.
