Barrett MRAD Covert Rifle .308 Win 17" Black 19971-BRT (UPC 810021512419)
The Barrett MRAD Covert Rifle .308 Win 17" Black 19971-BRT (UPC 810021512419) is a compact, high-performance bolt-action precision rifle designed for operators and long-range shooters who require maximum capability in a reduced package. As part of Barrett’s elite Multi-Role Adaptive Design (MRAD) platform, the Covert model delivers the same legendary accuracy, modularity, and durability as the full-size MRAD while featuring a shorter 17-inch barrel and a more maneuverable overall length. This configuration makes it ideal for discreet transport, vehicle deployment, and operations where a full-length precision rifle would be impractical. Chambered in .308 Winchester and supplied with two 10-round magazines, the MRAD Covert offers exceptional terminal performance and rapid follow-up capability in a suppressed-ready platform.
Barrett has long been recognized as the gold standard in precision rifle systems, and the MRAD Covert represents the pinnacle of modular bolt-action engineering in a compact format.
Compact Covert Configuration
The MRAD Covert is specifically engineered for situations where size and concealability matter. The 17-inch barrel significantly reduces the overall length of the rifle compared to standard MRAD models, making it easier to transport in cases, vehicles, or backpacks. Despite its compact size, the rifle maintains the precision and strength that Barrett is famous for. The design is optimized for use with a suppressor, featuring a threaded muzzle and a gas system that performs reliably when suppressed.

The Covert model retains this adaptability while offering a more compact footprint. The folding stock reduces the rifle’s length for storage and transport, and the adjustable cheek piece and length of pull allow shooters to achieve a perfect fit. This level of customization makes the MRAD Covert suitable for a wide range of missions and shooter preferences.
.308 Winchester Performance
Chambered in .308 Winchester, the MRAD Covert delivers proven ballistic performance with excellent accuracy and terminal effectiveness. The 17-inch barrel is optimized to maintain high velocity while keeping the rifle compact. This caliber offers a wide selection of match-grade and tactical ammunition, making the rifle versatile for both long-range target shooting and professional applications. The included 10-round magazines provide reliable feeding and substantial capacity for extended engagements.
Suppressed-Ready Design
The MRAD Covert is engineered from the ground up for suppressed use. The 17-inch barrel is threaded to accept a wide variety of suppressors, and the bolt-action design minimizes gas blowback compared to semi-automatic platforms. When paired with a quality suppressor, the rifle becomes exceptionally quiet while maintaining sub-MOA accuracy, making it an outstanding choice for tactical teams and precision shooters who prioritize signature reduction.
