The Fiocchi 12 Gauge 1 1/5 oz #3 Steel Shot (FIO123ST153) is a premium non-toxic shotshell engineered for waterfowl and upland game hunters who need dense patterns and reliable performance. Manufactured by Fiocchi, a globally respected name in ammunition, this load features 1 1/5 ounces of #3 steel shot in a 3-inch 12 gauge shell. The #3 shot size offers an excellent combination of pellet count and energy, making it a versatile choice for a wide variety of hunting situations, especially when targeting smaller to medium-sized waterfowl and upland birds.

Why Choose Fiocchi 12 Gauge #3 Steel Shot?

Fiocchi has earned a strong reputation for producing high-quality, consistent ammunition trusted by hunters around the world. The FIO123ST153 is part of Fiocchi’s steel shot series, developed specifically to meet the demands of modern waterfowl and wetland hunting where non-toxic shot is required. #3 steel shot is slightly smaller than #2, resulting in a higher pellet count per ounce. This increased pellet density creates tighter, more effective patterns at typical hunting ranges, making it particularly well-suited for ducks, teal, wood ducks, and smaller geese. The 1 1/5 oz payload provides a solid balance of pattern density and individual pellet energy, delivering clean kills while maintaining manageable recoil in most 12 gauge shotguns. Whether hunting over decoys, in flooded timber, or pursuing upland game, this load offers the performance and reliability serious hunters expect from Fiocchi.

Performance for Waterfowl and Upland Hunting

The Fiocchi 12 Gauge 1 1/5 oz #3 Steel Shot is an outstanding choice for hunters who prioritize pattern density. Because #3 shot is smaller than #2, each shell contains more individual pellets, resulting in a denser pattern that increases the chances of hitting fast-flying or smaller birds. This makes the FIO123ST153 especially effective for early season teal, wood ducks, and other smaller waterfowl species, as well as upland birds such as pheasants and chukar.

Steel shot is harder than traditional lead, which helps maintain tighter patterns at longer ranges while providing deep penetration. Fiocchi’s consistent loading process ensures reliable velocities and clean-burning powder, reducing barrel fouling during long days in the field. The 1 1/5 ounce payload delivers excellent terminal performance while keeping recoil manageable, allowing hunters to maintain accuracy during follow-up shots. Whether you’re hunting in flooded timber, over decoys on the marsh, or walking fields for upland game, the FIO123ST153 provides dependable results in a wide range of hunting conditions.
