Each Hornady Outfitter cartridge is loaded with solid GMX bullets made from a copper alloy. While being legal for use in California and other localities that have restrictions on lead rounds, the bullet provides deep penetration, controlled expansion and 95-percent or greater weight-retention.

All Hornady Outfitter rounds are loaded in corrosion-resistant, nickel-plated cases. Both the primer pocket and case mouths are sealed to prevent water or moisture from getting into the powder.
