Leupold BX-2 Timberline HD 12x50mm Roof Prism Binoculars | Shadow Gray | Model 188795
The Leupold BX-2 Timberline HD 12x50mm Roof Prism Binoculars (Model 188795) are premium high-magnification binoculars engineered for serious hunters and outdoor enthusiasts who demand greater detail at extended distances. With powerful 12x magnification and large 50mm objective lenses, these binoculars deliver exceptional clarity, brightness, and resolution, making them ideal for western big game hunting, long-range glassing, and low-light conditions. The Shadow Gray finish provides a modern, low-visibility appearance that blends naturally with outdoor environments. Built with Leupold’s trusted High-Definition optics and rugged construction, the BX-2 Timberline HD 12x50 offers the perfect balance of power, performance, and portability for demanding backcountry use.
Powerful 12x Magnification for Long-Range Glassing
The 12x magnification on the BX-2 Timberline HD provides significantly more detail than standard 10x binoculars, allowing hunters to clearly identify game, read antler configurations, and spot subtle movement at much greater distances. This higher magnification is especially valuable when glassing across open ridges, basins, or wide valleys common in western hunting. Combined with the large 50mm objective lenses, these binoculars maintain excellent image brightness even at higher powers, giving shooters a clear advantage when identifying animals at the edge of legal shooting light.
Superior Low-Light Performance
The 50mm objective lenses on the BX-2 Timberline HD gather substantially more light than smaller binoculars, delivering bright, high-contrast images during the critical low-light periods of dawn and dusk. Leupold’s advanced High-Definition lens coatings further enhance light transmission while reducing glare and chromatic aberration. Whether you’re spotting elk in heavy timber at first light or glassing mule deer across a distant ridge at last light, these binoculars provide the brightness and clarity needed to make confident identifications when it matters most.
Lightweight and Rugged Construction
Despite the larger 50mm objectives, the Leupold BX-2 Timberline HD 12x50 remains surprisingly lightweight and comfortable for extended carry in the backcountry. The roof prism design keeps the binoculars compact and streamlined, while the durable rubber armor provides a secure, non-slip grip in all weather conditions. The Shadow Gray finish is both stylish and practical, reducing glare while offering a contemporary tactical appearance. These binoculars are fully waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof, ensuring reliable performance in rain, snow, or rapid temperature changes commonly encountered during hunting and outdoor adventures.
Ergonomic Design for Extended Use
Leupold engineered the BX-2 Timberline HD series with all-day comfort in mind. The ergonomic rubber armor ensures a secure hold, even when wearing gloves. The smooth central focus wheel allows for quick and precise adjustments, while the twist-up eyecups provide comfortable eye relief for users with or without eyeglasses. The balanced weight distribution helps reduce arm fatigue during long glassing sessions from a ridgeline or spotting location, making these binoculars an excellent choice for hunters who spend hours behind their glass each day.
