The Nichols Lures Luke Clausen Finesse Jig Black Blue 5/16 oz (FJBB-516) is a premium finesse jig developed in collaboration with Elite Series champion Luke Clausen. This lighter 5/16-ounce version is specifically designed to provide a slower fall rate and more subtle presentation, making it an outstanding choice for clear water, highly pressured fisheries, and situations where bass require a delicate approach.
Why Choose the Nichols Luke Clausen Finesse Jig?
Luke Clausen’s signature finesse jig from Nichols Lures has earned a strong reputation among serious bass anglers for its effectiveness in tough fishing conditions. The Black Blue color is one of the most versatile and productive patterns available, offering excellent contrast and visibility in both clear and lightly stained water. The lighter 5/16 oz weight allows the jig to fall more slowly and naturally, which is often the key to triggering strikes from finicky or pressured bass. This finesse jig excels when fished around rocky banks, brush piles, and shallow to mid-depth structure where a more subtle presentation is required.

Performance and Build Quality
The Nichols Lures Luke Clausen Finesse Jig Black Blue 5/16 oz is engineered for maximum effectiveness when bass are wary or feeding lightly. The lighter 5/16 oz weight provides a slower descent that allows the jig to stay in the strike zone longer, increasing the chances of drawing a reaction strike. The Black Blue color offers strong contrast and flash, making it highly visible to bass even in deeper water or low-light conditions. The compact head and carefully selected skirt materials create a natural profile that closely mimics a crawfish or baitfish. This jig performs exceptionally well when dragged slowly along the bottom, hopped over rocks, or fished around brush and wood cover. Nichols Lures uses premium components, including a durable weed guard and strong hook, ensuring the jig maintains its performance even after repeated use in heavy cover. The 5/16 oz size is particularly effective in shallow to moderate depths where a finesse approach is most productive.
