The Proof Research Elevation 2.0 7 PRC is a premium ultra-lightweight precision rifle built for serious hunters and long-range shooters who demand exceptional accuracy without excess weight. Featuring a 20-inch carbon fiber barrel and the MDNGHT stock configuration, this model (150887) combines Proof Research’s industry-leading carbon fiber technology with a hunter-focused design. Chambered in the powerful and efficient 7 PRC cartridge, the Elevation 2.0 delivers outstanding long-range performance for backcountry hunting, mountain hunts, and precision shooting. The shorter 20-inch barrel enhances maneuverability while still providing excellent ballistic performance, making this rifle an ideal choice for hunters who need to cover significant distances on foot.

Advanced Carbon Fiber Barrel Technology

At the heart of the Proof Research Elevation 2.0 is its signature carbon fiber wrapped barrel. Proof Research is widely recognized as the leader in carbon fiber barrel manufacturing. The 20-inch barrel dramatically reduces overall rifle weight while maintaining superior rigidity, accuracy, and heat dissipation. Carbon fiber construction allows the barrel to cool faster between shots and significantly reduces mirage, giving shooters a clearer sight picture during extended range sessions. The 20-inch length provides an excellent balance between velocity and maneuverability, making this rifle highly effective for hunting in varied terrain where a longer barrel may be cumbersome.

7 PRC Cartridge Performance

The 7 PRC is a modern, high-performance cartridge designed specifically for long-range shooting and hunting. It offers excellent ballistic coefficients, flat trajectories, and impressive terminal performance on big game. When paired with the Proof Research carbon fiber barrel, the 7 PRC delivers consistent velocities and exceptional accuracy at extended distances. This cartridge provides high performance with more manageable recoil compared to larger magnum cartridges, allowing shooters to maintain accuracy during follow-up shots. The 20-inch barrel length is well-optimized for the 7 PRC, providing strong velocity while keeping the overall rifle compact and easy to handle.

MDNGHT Stock Configuration

The MDNGHT stock on the Elevation 2.0 is specifically designed for hunters who need a lightweight yet stable platform. This stock offers excellent ergonomics, a comfortable grip, and a stable shooting platform whether shooting from prone, seated, or supported positions. The MDNGHT configuration helps reduce overall weight while maintaining the rigidity needed for consistent long-range accuracy. Its modern design provides good cheek weld and length of pull options for a customized fit, making it well-suited for long days in the field where every ounce matters.
