Advanced Recoil Reduction for the Glock 17
The Radian Afterburner + Ramjet system utilizes a sophisticated gas redirection design. The Ramjet barrel features strategically placed ports that channel expanding gases into the Afterburner compensator, which then directs those gases upward to counteract muzzle rise. This results in significantly reduced felt recoil and faster target reacquisition during rapid fire. On the larger Glock 17 platform, this system provides outstanding control, making it an excellent choice for competitive shooters, law enforcement, and defensive pistol users who want maximum performance from their full-size Glock.
Match-Grade Ramjet Barrel
The foundation of this system is the Radian Ramjet barrel, manufactured from high-quality stainless steel and precision machined for superior accuracy. The barrel features a match-grade bore and rifling that delivers consistent, tight groupings. Integrated gas ports are optimized to work seamlessly with the Afterburner compensator, maximizing recoil reduction without sacrificing reliability or accuracy. The black finish provides excellent corrosion resistance and a professional, low-visibility appearance that matches most Glock slides and aftermarket components.

Why Choose the Radian Afterburner + Ramjet for Glock 17?
The Radian Afterburner + Ramjet system is widely recognized as one of the most effective recoil management solutions available for Glock pistols. On the full-size Glock 17, this system provides even greater benefits due to the pistol’s longer sight radius and increased weight. Many users report a substantial reduction in felt recoil and muzzle flip, often between 30-50% compared to a standard Glock 17. This makes it an outstanding upgrade for competitive shooting disciplines such as USPSA and IDPA, as well as for duty use where rapid, accurate follow-up shots are critical.
Ideal Applications
The Radian Weapons Afterburner + Ramjet Glock 17 Gen5 is perfect for competitive shooters looking for a performance advantage, law enforcement officers who want enhanced control during high-stress situations, and civilian shooters who want to maximize the capabilities of their full-size Glock. It performs exceptionally well with both standard and +P defensive ammunition, helping to tame recoil while maintaining the reliability and balance of the Glock 17 platform. The black finish makes it suitable for both duty and competition builds.
Quality and Reliability
Radian Weapons is known for producing high-quality, precision-engineered components. The Afterburner + Ramjet system is manufactured using advanced machining techniques and undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure consistent performance. The drop-in design requires no gunsmithing, and the system is engineered to maintain the reliability and safety standards that Glock pistols are known for when properly installed.
