Zoom Bait 6" Brush Hog California 420 | Model 022-308
The Zoom Bait 6 inch Brush Hog California 420 (Model 022-308) is a bulky, high-performance soft plastic creature bait that has become a favorite among bass anglers who fish heavy cover. This 6-inch bait is designed to imitate a large crawfish or baitfish and excels when fished around vegetation, wood, and rock. Each pack contains 8 high-quality Brush Hogs in the popular California 420 color, making it an excellent choice for serious fishermen. The Zoom Brush Hog is widely regarded as one of the most effective creature baits for flipping, pitching, and Texas rigging in tough conditions.
California 420 Color
The California 420 color is a dark, natural shade featuring a deep green and black base with subtle purple and blue flake. This color provides excellent contrast and visibility in stained or murky water while maintaining a realistic appearance. It performs exceptionally well around heavy vegetation, laydowns, and dark cover where big bass often hide. The California 420 Brush Hog is especially effective during low-light conditions and in water with reduced visibility, making it a go-to choice for many tournament anglers.
Bulky Creature Bait Design
The Brush Hog features a thick, meaty body with multiple realistic appendages, including legs, claws, and a large curly tail. This design creates a bulky profile and significant water displacement that bass can easily detect. The numerous legs and claws move and flutter with even the slightest rod movement, giving the bait a lifelike crawling action. The 6-inch size offers the perfect balance of bulk and action, making it large enough to attract bigger bass while remaining effective in a variety of fishing situations.
Maximum Action in Heavy Cover
The Zoom Brush Hog is specifically engineered for fishing in and around heavy cover. Its bulky body and multiple appendages create constant movement and vibration, even when fished slowly. This makes it an outstanding choice for flipping and pitching into mats, laydowns, and thick vegetation where quality bass often hold. The large curly tail adds extra action that helps the bait stand out from the surrounding cover and triggers aggressive strikes.
Highly Versatile Fishing Applications
The 6" Brush Hog is extremely versatile and can be fished using several proven techniques. It excels when Texas rigged for flipping and pitching, on a Carolina rig for covering water over deeper structure, or as a trailer on a jig. Many anglers also use it as a standalone bait when fishing around grass lines or submerged timber. Its bulky profile makes it effective for both largemouth and smallmouth bass in a variety of environments.
Premium Soft Plastic Construction
Zoom Bait is known for producing high-quality soft plastics that combine durability with lifelike action. The Brush Hog is made from a super-soft yet resilient plastic formula that provides excellent hook penetration while remaining tough enough to withstand multiple strikes. Each bait is salt-impregnated, which encourages bass to hold onto the lure longer after the initial strike, dramatically improving hook-up ratios. The consistent molding ensures reliable performance on every cast, even in heavy cover.
